It doesn't need complete contact 100% with the glass to provide heat to said glass and up through the substrate. Worse case is you need to crank the thermostat higher to achieve the necessary belly heat.

I took the entire damn thing off until I can get a bigger one. I was so pissed it wouldn't stick that it's off. So I went back to the Che and red heat to keep the temps in the hides correct and ambient correct. And I forgot to weigh her in all this...ugh. Hopefully she eats since I probably stressed her out more than normal.

if she doesn't eat, it's not the end of the world. you're not a bad snarent! i had the same issues when i used those adhesive UTHs and i was so happy to find ones you can move and remove, so i always recommend the UltraTherms.
you'll figure out what works for you; you'll hack this.

yay!!!!!!!!!
just raise ambient temps a bit higher and she'll be alright without the belly heat for a bit.

The best UTH I have is a square piece of infrared heat mat. It is the same shape as a heating pad, but a paper thin plastic sheet, with solar looking infrared foil in the plastic. Basically a square of heat tape. Is great for a glass tank.

I've had this exact same thing happen to me before I went to a T8 and RHP. Those mats won't stick well when there is a probe jammed in there keeping it all from being flush and sealed up. It doesn't matter what kind of tape you use, its only ever going to hold the edges down while the middle peels away from the air gap created by the probe. They aren't designed this way. I don't know where this idea originated from or what purpose it has, but I found it didn't work for me and had to make adjustments to the way I monitored the temp. I will never use a heat mat again. This is just my opinion. I've found when it comes to these animals, the so-called experts don't even have a clue, its all just best practice for them.

So looking at the ultra therm uth they range between 65-95 degrees so you don't need a tempstat? And will I have the same issue of a bubble where the probe goes?

they do not get as hot as other UTHs and they say you don't need a thermostat, but i still use thermostats with mine. yes there is still the bump issue with the probe, but i've never had issues with it. i've aluminum taped the UTH tight enough to the enclosures and placed the probe off center from where the snake will be spending its time so it's not really an issue (3/4 of my enclosures have the bump; T8 has a probe channel for it to sit in).
there's ways to remedy the bump issue if you're still concerned, however. is your enclosure raised off of whatever it's on? you could get two blocks of styrofoam for the enclosure to sit on and cut a channel into the one on the hot side for the probe to rest in. you could also tape the probe wire to the underside of the UTH (facing the floor), but you can't tape the probe head itself.
