Help getting rid of the smell..
I have 3 ball pythons right now, soon to be 5. And I am having a difficult time getting rid of the smell after one or all of them use the bathroom. Any good tips on reducing or eliminating the smell? They are kept in my bedroom so it can be a little strong and my room mate is not a fan of the smells leaking into the main area of the house.
thanks.

What are you using for substrate?

As long as I clean it up throughly and leave no residue behind, the odor disappears quickly. it sounds like bad housekeeping! Take the snake out and really clean the enclosure after a poop. I usually spot-clean urine, but sometimes if it is a larger pee, I will just clean the whole enclosure.

I don't think bad housekeeping, that sounds a bit rude IMO.
I have only one snake and just one dump from him has me gagging and the whole room stunk up after cleaning, so I can understand dealing with 3. I give his cage a really good clean and if weather permits I just open a window and that deals with the smell quickly. If not, I use an air purifier. I have a dog, rats, and my snake in just one room, so the air purifier really does the trick eliminating smells.
As soon as they go to the bathroom, clean it so the odor doesn't really have time to linger.

Apologies, I meant to say "insufficient cleaning."

Re: Help getting rid of the smell..
Also, snakes don't "go to the bathroom". They defecate and urinate.
They don't even have a bathroom, unless they crap in their water bowl....I guess that counts as "going to the bathrooM."

The poop of my BP is not smelly at all. I don,t even notice that he pooped through the smell. I have to search for it. As i said almost no smell, and he poops after the third or fourth meal. Not that often

If the smell is really that bad then you should consider more frequent spot cleanings and wipe downs of the enclosure. Also , there is a product called "Natures Miracle" specifically to target urine and feces odors. It's chemical makeup is based on a enzyme formulation that is pretty safe for animals. However the mode of action is to remove stains and smells enzymatIcally which is purportedly more effective than just perfuming it over. Petco, Petsmart, and Petland all sell the products.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

An air filter/purifier can also help. I run one of these in each of my snake rooms, but the fan is noisy so you may want a different model in your bedroom unless you really like white noise:

I have almost never has a smell in my snake enclosures at home or at work. At work is more common since the substrate is wood shavings. I clean those weekly so no smell. Home I spot clean and there is never a smell. What is your substrate and how often are you cleaning? This just seems odd to me.
