Months of craigslist lurking finally paid off

After probably a good 8 months of checking craigslist religiously ( i mean it became part of my every day routine) i finally found a steal! I got a barely used boaphile 221D with the light and flexwatt factory installed for 125! I was so excited. Even got to chat it up a bit with a fellow enthusiast, so overall i would say the lurking has been worth it! Now i just need to continue lurking so i can find some 421s.

Oh and also i was hoping to find out if anyone knows where the replacement bulbs for the boaphiles can be purchased? The bulb on mine is out, and i cant find it anywhere locally, the bulb itself is 17" if anyone knows which one im referring to, im not sure if boaphile uses the same fluorescence in each build

My suggestion on the bulb replacement would be to take the dead bulb with you to a hardware/supply store and see if they have a replacement for it.

Nice snag with the craigslist lurking, I've found checking cl regularly to be a good way to get good deals as well.

Oh man, now that is unfortunate. You might just have to remove the light fixture and replace it entirely. Last ditch effort would be to contact Jeff Ronne and ask him where to get a replacement bulb.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a religious Craigslist checker. I've some great caging and supply deals. (The animals have been either great deals or awful mistakes)

Congrats, I'd toss the light and install LEDs (I also have a Boaphile and don't like their florescent light)... this set is nice in black and comes with a remote to change light level and color... much cheaper sets available too (ebay).

For a nice finishing touch, I trimmed this LED molding to size to house the LEDs - just figuring out how to best install it now...

OP - upgrade your light, Boaphile uses these Westek under cabinet lights - not the best reviews, almost half 1-star...

We recently purchased two budgies off a CL guy who bred them himself. Nice little birds, and a great price.

I was browsing CL for a while looking for some more glass tanks, but realistically I need to hold off - we just absolutely do not have any more space. Sad. There are three more snake species I still want to acquire, and two are currently listed on Kingsnake, but the discretionary funds (not to mention space, again) just aren't there right now.

One thing that amuses me is what some people seem to think their old used stuff is worth.
