High Humidity Issues

There are pros and cons to each substrate. It's usually a matter of trial and error to see what works best for you. I use a blend of eco earth and repti bark, but need to make adjustments seasonally on the ratios, etc....

Who would of guessed that taking care of a dog and even children is much easier then a ball python? I was told these were entry level reptiles

Try thinning out the Reptichip. Either by using less, mixing smaller amounts of it with either Aspen kiln dried or Sani chips. You can even try putting the Reptichip on top of a double layer of white unprinted newspaper or paper towels.

Hahaha, they really are easy, eventually. Once the trial and error phase is over at least. Once you've got the variables figured out it's a matter of maintenance.
Then, when you get your next snake its so much easier

That's how it started with me too, this time around at least. It took a year or two of subtle hints and requests, but now she's cool with it

Yea I'm still having problems with my humidity, I'm in central Florida and I can't keep it above 40% 40 gal tank was using the eco earth coconut....I'm thinking about getting a humidifier for the room cause I also have a RTB, pastel bp, and two dragons all in one room....I had the aspen bedding and it was working fine but just kept drying out too fast....idk

That's crazy. I'm wondering if it's because it's a tank as well and a larger one as well. I barely have any water in my Bps dish, the substrate was put in completely dry and my humidity is around 85%. You may want to look into Reptichip and just keep it moist.

I always have the relative humidity of the room I have my snake in monitored along with the in tank humidity. I have a glass tank that is insulated on 3 sides and below the cold side and the right top screen is covered with a plastic insert and half the left top covered with a towel. I have my CHE on a thermostat set to click off at 83 degrees F and all that helps to retain a good level of humidity in my tank (I just walked over and it is sitting at, in tank, 63%)

Do you know the humidity in the room the enclosure is in and do you have the screens mostly covered? Also do you use overhead heating and is it regulated by a thermostat or rheostat?

The room was sitting at 45% humidity, one of the problems I've noticed is that we have 8 feet of high heat tanks, two dragons so that could very well be one of the issues, I just changed out the bedding...the Uth is reading 89 with 55% and cooler side is at 82 with 55% the screens were covered with contact paper but it seemly didn't do anything noticeable....the damp towel trick works best imo.
