How long can hunting mode last ??

So I fed my bp 8pm last night.. and after 4 hours I went to check on him and he strikes at my hand that was outside of the tub(tub is transparent)... this never happened before.... it did once but that was cuz I was holding the feeding tong and it probably smelled like rodent....

Another thing I noticed when he was swallowing the rodent, he had a little trouble with it cuz F/T rodent was in a cradle position... but he eventually got it down but when he was doing so I heard a "farting sound" coming from my bp..... maybe was the air that escaped from his mouth as he was trying to sallow??

I've heard they can stay in hunting mode for up to a day but mine are usually back to normal pretty quick but possibly just more defensive since they don't feel as mobile with a full belly. All sorts of fun noises can get squeezed out of the rat as well.

Mine pretty much are out of it after they eat. Except for one. He is always in that mode. Because he is a pig.

I read somewhere that they can remain in feed mode for as long as 48 hours. I've observed my BP in feed mode 18-20 hours after feeding, and my Cal King a full day and a half later.
