    Finished New Cage

Its done. I know thermostat is on Celsius. I know how to convert. The pole is in there because he occasionally likes to climb. I like it. Have to get 3 more.

Nothing wrong with working in Celsius, most of the world does.

Do be careful with those stick-on gauges, if they're your main reading source. Plus I've heard on reddit that some snakes have pulled them down climbing and gotten them stuck and had scale damage. Maybe adhere it more permanently with superglue or hot glue?

Sorry , just seen this .

Is this your first ever snake ?

Have you got the snake yet or is this one you've got your eyes on ?

Also is this a provisional set up ?

Either way ... We could do with a lot more detailed info on the set up and snake and a few better photos ...
Age - size of snake .
    Size of Viv
Ceramic bulb presumably - is it regulated by a thermostat .
The ceramic should be situated at one end or the other not in the middle as it looks to be ...
Temps warm side , temps cool side .
Have you got thermometers with wired probes as those stick-on ones are not suitable for the surface temps you need to know . They only give very approximate ambient air temps .
Ideally needs two identical , appropriately sized hides . One on the warm side , warm in the cool side . Also the one you have isn't really suitable for snakes as they don't offer enough security , having two openings and easily moved around . They prefer a one with one opening and the hide must not to be too large .

Ideally you need a few more branches / poles in there ( you touched on that matter I know , plus some fake plastic/silk plants / foliage from he local dollar/pound store .

On the face of it I'd advise you do a lot more research .

Throw the dial gauge out. Those are infamous for being very inaccurate. Get a digital temp/humidity stand up unit.

was going to say the same thing. Seen it happen more than once at work. It's very scary. We had to use cononut oil to get it off them to prevent missing scales.

also noticed only one hide? should have two symmetric hides, one on the hot side and one cold side for BP to feel most comfortable.

Also more foliage for hiding. Off to a good start though.
