    Question Which Herpstat?

I am looking to upgrade to a herpstat and was wondering which one you guys would recommend?

I only own 1 BP and he stays in a 40 gallon tank with 2 UTH on either side and a CHE.

How many thermostats do you have now? At a minimum you'd need a Herpstat 2 to control the two UTH. And for the CHE you could use a thermostat, a rheostat, or if it's a low enough wattage just run it at full power.

I'm not familiar w/ a CHE but having two UTHs would mean a Herpstat2 at minimum. I have two UTHs w/ a Herpstat2.

    Get the biggest

Get the biggest one you can afford. It will cost less on the long run if u plan on more snakes. I have two herpstat 1s, herpstat 2, and a four. I should have started with a four or larger.

Depending on the wattage you have total. You can use a power strip "surge protector" to run several uths or heat tape. If you have the same temp settings on all of them . If you want different temps you'll have to have a herpstat that has two or more outlets.

should have add Herpstat 1 if your not going to have different temps . But if u plan on adding more Pythons , get what you can afford for any future plans.

I have a 4 and 2. I'm glad I got the 4. If you at all think you will want more snakes, go with a bigger herpstat. Right now, you need at least a 2. The CHE can be run off a rheostat (lamp dimmer) if you can accurately read the temps with a heat gun, etc. and make proper adjustments. I have all my heating lamps and CHEs on rheostats / dimmers.
