    Do snakes recognise routines?

Ive always been a bit haphazard in the way I feed my snakes. But since getting this rather crazy woma I am wondering if routine might help.
So do they have a sense of time? After awhile will they automatically know its Sunday so it must be feeding day.

I do realize that a routine could only go so far, if smell like a rat in the middle of the week im likely to get a food response.

Mine seem to. They know feeding day even with no rats around.
Honest, I only need one more ...

I would say yeah, they do. Most people who have multiple snakes have what is called feeding day where they feed all the snakes that day, and over time the snake learns when it is going to get fed and is ready to eat on that specific day.

My snake definitely knows when it's time to eat. He eats every two weeks and as soon that day comes he's ready to eat. Rat or no rat. I can't even try to hold him, change water or anything because he thinks every and anything is food.

Most of mine know the routine. It certainly makes feeding quick.

Depending on the species, some learn right away and some take longer... but they do!

I don't stick to a fixed routine nowadays for the ball pythons. I feed anywhere between every 10~20 days.

For your snake to truly know is Sunday leave a Calendar next to its enclosure.
Sorry Miranda, I know is a terrible joke.

They do while they have simple brains, they do recognize simple routines such as same day weekly feeding, which really help with BP as they can be a little difficult when it comes to food.

I can tell you that on feeding day my snakes are ready, they are cruising and already in feed mode, before the food is even brought in the snake room, that also mean on that day no handling or water change as they are a little more on the edge.
