    Undersized Babies at Day 58?

I have a clutch of 7 eggs that I cut today at 58 days of incubation, and noticed that the babies are taking up little more than half of the eggs (if that on a few). I've kept an eye on the temp since day 1 in the incubator, and it's remained at a steady 90 degrees F (and between 80 and 90% humidity), aside from a power outage that lasted 2 hours at MOST. The 'bator got up to temp within another couple hours, though.

Could this be a reason for the tiny hatchlings? Will I lose the clutch? Aside from one, all seem relatively healthy. Is there anything extra I can do to help them survive? I really don't want to lose this clutch....

I'm only on my first clutch so I can't help you much but since your not getting any replies yet I'll at least share my opinion. Be patient with them, no rush getting them out of the eggs. Keep them incubating, they may just need more time. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. Good luck with them.

I haven't really paid too much attention to this, but now that I think about it 50% of a fully "inflated" egg is probably about right. I would have expected that the eggs would have piped on their own at that temp but I never incubate that high. It is too close to the danger zone for my taste and the actual egg temp could be a few degrees higher than what the ambient is in a tub or the incubator itself.
Honest, I only need one more ...

Out of curiosity how many DPO were they laid? I had a female lay over a week later than expected and they did pip a few days earlier than usual. Perhaps the reverse can happen if they were laI'd early. Also how dented were the eggs? By the time they're all sunken in it seems like they take up all of the space but like mentioned if they were fully inflated it would be probably around 2/3 snake. Definitely leave them alone to come out on their own. I'll be curious to know their weights once they're out. I've ways read to keep humidity at almost 99% and (knock on wood) haven't lost a clutch so maybe get that up higher for your next clutch and see if you have similar issues although humidity issues are usually obvious by egg condition. Good luck!
