Think I maybe getting addicted?
I went to the local reptile show this weekend looking for females for my firebelly male. Came home with this girl. She's a bit over 300g so I figure it's gonna be atleast 2 years before she's ready to breed. She is a Fire, but the breeder thought she maybe het for pied. He couldn't guarantee it but he didn't charge me extra so I figured I'd hope for the best with her. I know the pied marker thing is super debatable but I think I may risk it and try to locate a male pastel pied for her?

Nice! From what I've seen from the belly markers it does look like it's het for pied. I actually have a visual fire pied male that I picked up last year and plan to breed, he is one of my favorite snakes.

I am not saying that she is not het for Pied, but those "train tracks" are a pretty common occurrence on Fires. I thought the same thing the first time I looked at a male Fire that I used to own, but after a little bit of researching I learned that a lot of Fires have the "train tracks". I hope for you that she does end up being het Pied, but wanted to give you a heads up.

That's good to know. If she doesn't prove I wouldn't cry to hard. I was after a fire so if she does it will just be a bonus. No real loss at the end of the day. Eventually I plan on getting a couple pieds. Pieds and Lucys are really the snakes that made me want a BP.

If you look under the snake towards the tail you can see the solid black lines running down the sides of the belly. That's what we are talking about when referring to tracks. You could probably find a good YouTube video by searching for "pied markers".
