Aussie pythons and carpets in particular are definitely my favorite snake species. I've been tempted by boas and SD retics but my last (6) snakes have been (5) carpets and an Olive python. The Olive is quickly becoming my favorite snake. He has an INSANE feeding response but is very docile outside of feeding time. He spends equal time on the ground and in the trees and is more active than most of my carpets. I can't wait for him to grow a bit more. I have a Coastal, a Bredli, an albino, and 2 jungle carpets. With the exception of the yearling albino all of my carpets are eating machines, they all handle well even though I do use a hook to take them out of their vivs, and they're all great display animals. You really can't beat Morelia IMO. I think they're great snakes for beginners and experienced keepers.
