    Help, snake is injured

My ball python (about 4/5ths of a foot long) has been injured by a DIY cave I made out of tupperware and electrical tape, some tape got loose and he had some scales come off. the wound is in the shape of a splinter so tryed to take it out, until i put him under my microscope and saw it has his scales. Im really worried because they are near his neck and he rarely moves and seems to be in great pain. I thought he was paralyzed but he can move if he wants. I handle him to look at his wounds and he just flops his head around above the neck at really odd angles. I plan to take him to the vet as soon as possible and do no more harm.

It sounds like it might have broken or dislocated its neck getting wrapped up in the tape. Please post a pick, and yes get it to the vet ASAP.

Never use sticky stuff inside a snake's cage.

I can't post a pic, my phone has been unusable for months. If his neck is broken or dislocated can he still move his body? because he can a little.

If the spinal cord is still in tact, you can have broken bones in the neck and still be able to move. If there's spinal injury, movement can be permanently limited or lost.

If there's anything broken it's possible it's just vertebrae, but you need to see a Vet asap to know for sure.

You need to understand that there is no way that anyone can accurately diagnose this type of problem without actually seeing the snake in person. In theory it would be possible for the snake to move with a dislocation or a break if the spinal cord has not been damaged. I would not be messing with it at all at this point. It needs to be seen by a professional.
