    Ranco Thermostat Questions

I'm interested in purchasing a ranco thermostat, however I have a couple of questions. I like it because you can hook it up to a power strip/surge and plug in multiple heat pads into it. Now, I've been reading around and it seems to me that people only use these for racks. I don't know if that's true but I'd like to know if I could use it to control two similar sized heat pads.

You can plug a power strip into any thermostat as long as #1 you don't overload it and #2 all heat sources are IDENTICAL.
You will still need to monitor each one and at have a couple degree variance.

    Re: Ranco Thermostat Questions

So can I use a different sized heat pad with 2 same sized heat pads on a herpstat? I have one and if I can do it I'll do it.

    Re: Ranco Thermostat Questions

For example can I use 2 6x11 heat pads along with a 11x11 heat pad on the same thermostat?

No. You can use the 2 6x11's together but not the 11x11. To use multiple heat source on one thermostat they need to be identical as stated above. Example same heat pads, same wattage bulbs, same size/wattage rhp's etc.

    Re: Ranco Thermostat Questions

If you want to use different heat sources on one thermostat you'd need something like a herpstat 2, 4, 6 or a ve-300x2
