Does your snake ever do anything silly in its enclosure?
Sammy always does this. He lays his body around the water bowl and has his other half of his body in the hot hide.

the other day i caught Corny sleeping on the floor of his enclosure with his head buried underneath the substrate.
he also manages to climb UPSIDE DOWN on the top of the enclosure, with his belly facing the ceiling. it's pretty impressive, unless i'm trying to fall asleep and every few minutes i hear the THUD of him falling. lol.

this is like the human equivalent of sleeping with one leg under the covers and one leg outside the covers.

I was short a hide for a few days. I found this in the tub (minus the fork).
Honest, I only need one more ...

Just because a snake is terrestrial doesn't mean they won't utilize climbing opportunity. A fallen tree that becomes a habitat for all sorts of snakes in the wild can be 3-4 feet around and a few more feet off the ground. Or even thinking about a creek bed with a hill next to it, those could approach 20-40 feet in elevation over a very small distance. I haven't seen a snake not use a climbing opportunity in captivity if given one outside of maybe Kenyan Sand boas. .

The Baird's Rat Snakes have taken to thrashing about the cage flipping crap over during feeding time. Barely even paying attention to the mouse I give them and looking for a 2nd mouse. It's weird because neither of them have ever been offered multiple food items in one sitting since they were yearlings and I was feeding off the remainder of a bulk pinky mouse purchase.
