    Help Identify .. DL warning!

Just a brief history, a friend of mine was lucky enough to purchased this bizarre looking ball. It cost him about about $150. Can any of you folks help identify the type of morph coz we have gone through everywhere and couldnt find anything that quite match its appearance.

Are you sure it even is a morph, cause I would think that if it was, the seller would have told him what morph it is. I have a bp that looks very close in coloring and somewhat close in pattern, and he is just a normal. When he was younger, he was more of a brown color, but as he has aged, he has turned darker like the one you are asking about.

However, it is still a very nice healthy looking animal!

It looks like a really dark normal to me but....... Where did you get it from? Ask the previous owner if it was always that dark. It might be an IMG (increasing melanin gene)....they get darker and darker with time...but are not a genetic morph....just a cool snake to have in the collection...I love dark colored ball pythons

Re: Help Identify .. DL warning!

Well to be honest we had our doubts too coz it does have all the traits of a normal ball. The ball looks really quite amazing under normal light, it really do seem to lack any yellow or brown.

It was purchased about 6 months ago and we never got to see what it looked like when it was younger. However, the seller did say that the ball was "special". Hehe i guess its just an old ball. Nevertheless, its a sweet looking ball and our first impression when we first saw it was simply "Wow".

Anyways, here a pic i forgot to include.

Hey guys, justa little update, i did a small search on IMG ball (thanks Daniel) and found out that Ralph Davis has a similar ball. It has the same bizzare color and the way he describes the pigmentation kinda sums it up. He doesnt know know what genetic type it is however, he has produced hets from it.

What do you guys think ?

Well I'm no judge of morphs unless they are very obvious ones LOL but that is a really interesting looking one. Nice find your friend made.
