    Hello from WV

Hi all! I'm Rvnhawk from WV.

I just got a female pastel ball python today froma reptile show. I previously had a snow cornsnake, who I lost in a freak accident when the shelve he was on broke. I missed owning a snake so finally got the hubby to give in and let me buy another one .

i have a female leopard gecko I rescued from a family who wasn't caring for it correctly who has lasting damage from MBD. I previously had owned and bred leopard geckos.

I'm here to learn more about balls, genetics, and breeding in case I decide to venture into breeding. I never learned much about that in cornsnakes because it's technically against the law here in WV because we have a native population of them.

i also have 4 cats (one with high blood pressure that needs medicated daily), 2 pomeranians (one with congestive heart failure needing twice daily medication) and a black German shepherd dog (who has severe allergies requiring special food and medications) - thank goodness I have a vet tech background and currently work at a small (furry) animal clinic!

i also have an autoimmune disorder, so if some days it seems I'm not making sense in my posts, please bear with me because it affects my memory and ability to communicate clearly at times.

    Re: Hello from WV

I'm in WV as well, and didn't even think about future snake breeding until I saw your post. I have ball pythons and corns and was planning on breeding the corns. I guess that plan is out! I noticed the regulation says you can't sell corns, but I see them for sale all the time. Ugh, poor thinking before signing things into law! Im pretty sure my butter tessera corns would not be confused with wild caught and wouldn't last long in the wild if they got out.
    Leilani- corn snake (butter tesserra)
    Keahi- corn snake (sunglow motley)
    Pololena- ball python (banana)
    Ichtaka- ball python (mystic potion)
    Wonambi- Brazilian rainbow boa (normal)

Yeah, I looked into it after I was at a couple talks DNR gave that I was at with my wild avian rehab group. I'm still not sure how the pet stores are able to sell them, but *shrug*. I'll stay on this side of the law on this.

The town I live in has a no snake over 6 feet ordinance. I might test that one with RTB in the future.
