    Introducing ourselves

Hello, I just got my first snake. It's a normal Ball Python yearling. Eating well on frozen and seems to be pretty active. Just went through a shed a few days ago, and took his first meal with me today. He's hiding now but the pictures show his setup. I say he but I honestly don't know. Looking forward to learning more and sharing the experience!

    Introducing ourselves

    Welcome !!

Best spend some time reading care sheets ..

Presuming your temps on warm and cool side are correct and the heat source is regulated by a thermostat ..
So on first glance .... Ideally two identical hides one on the warm side , one on cool side .

Sadly that log thingy you have there isn't really suitable for a snake 'hide' as it's open ended and gives virtually zero security ..

A few more branches from the local woods will be well used in the evenings ... and shops like PoundLand sell lots of cheap plastic foliage that looks great and gives them even more security ...

    Re: Introducing ourselves

If you want to know the sex of your snake, there are several great videos showing how to do so on YouTube! That's how I learned how to sex mine
