    Earwig behavior?

Man these creepy-crawlies are gross, last night one was crawling on my computer desk and made its way on top of a computer speaker, here it raised its abdomen/pincers into the air and stayed there. I tried googling this behavior but no results. Does anyone know what this bug was doing or trying to accomplish?

This was the best place I could think of to post, I may go to some sort of insect forum if noone here has a clue.

Sounds to me like he was challenging you to a fight. "Put your dukes up!"

    Re: Earwig behavior?

From what I know of earwigs its a defensive display. Then again apparently they don't actually crawl in ears if given a choice so its weird how they get their name.

He was attempting to intimidate you into not crushing him dead. (Did it work?)
