APT8 vs T10 For adult female BPs?
Hi guys,
I am in the process of upgrading my snakes to larger caging and although I have a CB 70 rack for my adult females, one of them is rather large and I'm considering upgrading her to either a T8 or T10 cage.
I'd like input from those of you that use pvc caging with your female BPs on which height would work best and whether your BPs show any incliination to climb or would use a shelf. I currently have my boas in T10 and T11 cages with shelves, which they use, but am unsure on whether a BP would make use of the shelf option or not.
Also, I have heard that the 12" tall cages can be hard to clean.. If you have any thoughts on this, I would greatly appreciate them.
For the other cage options, I plan on going with sliding glass locking doors, heat tape, and recessed LED lighting.
Thank you for your time and help!

APT8 vs T10 For adult female BPs?
It really depends on the snake. Some will like the shelf, some will never touch it. I'd say if you can afford the extra $50 for a T10 then go for it. My male doesn't use the height enough to warrant 3" more in cage height so he's in a T8. A female would do fine in a 12" height be if you can offer higher I don't see why it would hurt

I've had Dottie who is just over 4' in both a T10 and T8 with shelves. Didnt really seem to matter actually, she used the shelf in both cages when she was actually out and about.
As for cleaning, If you are using the 8" base and have your cages stacked like i do, the 3" of the T10 will make a difference between laying on your side to clean the cage or just squatting down to clean the cage. If you have the cage on a table or something else high, then it really isnt that much difference as the shelves are easy enough to slide out for cleanings.
So bottom line is if the cage is close to the floor, the T8 will be kind of a pain to clean. If it's up on a table, then it wont matter. And as for which is better for a BP, again doesnt seem to matter much. Go with whichever one you like.

Thanks guys for your input!
I am using the 8" stand...but am not sure how high in the stack the cage will end up. I was considering the T8 mainly to save vertical space..as I have limited floor room and am short (5'1) so can't stack the cages too high. However, if you think there is a possibility that she will use a shelf, then I will more than likely go with the T10.
