Re: Help with ordering feeders online. Growing snake/ what size rats to order

I think $30 for shipping 6+ months worth of feeders is pretty reasonable. I love the convenience of ordering the exact sizes I need and the speedy delivery right to my door. And the product is consistently good. I just ordered some chicks, jumbo mice, and a bunch of medium, large and jumbo rats that should arrive tomorrow. The only thing that I don't like about Perfect Prey is they don't sell rabbits.

Have any of you guys weighed out the rats from perfect prey? I've been reading some reviews saying their rodents are high quality and clean, but they are typically on the lighter side of the range given for each size.

I usually weigh the prey items before feeding the snakes. The feeders that I get from PP have all been in the proper size ranges with a pretty good variety of lighter and heavier prey items.

I received my order yesterday. Everything was still frozen, and there was still plenty of dry ice left in the bag. I opened the 5 pack of rat pups today and weighed them all out. I think the lightest one was 19g and the heaviest was 27g. The other 3 were low 20s. I fed my snake the smallest one today, and he took it without any issues. He usually isn't shy about eating, but today was the first time he ever drug his prey back into his hide to eat lol. Overall I am pleased with my order!

On a random side note, rat pups are fluffier/softer and way more adorable than mice.
