    Eggs laid in water bowl

This morning I woke to a very scary clutch, my most anticipated clutch a spinnerblast x Bamboo. She laid 8 eggs, but 6 of the 8 were in her water bowl.. I have no idea what to expect, and am trying to stay positive that all is not lost. Has anyone been thru something similar?

Never heard of this one, it will probably depend on how long they were underwater. Did you candle them?

Yes, all 6 had veins..i assume they were not in there long since the night before I checked on her, and as I woke this am is when I saw the clutch..also she was still in that daze after laying that she did not strike when removing the other 2 she had wrapped.

I'm betting if they make it through the first week they will be fine. Keep us up dated though and good luck.

Re: Eggs laid in water bowl

I have but not with BP, the water dish was not very deep, lost 3 and 4 hatched. Basically lost the ones that were laid first and we're the most summerged, the other were on the top of those 3.

Never happened with BP and never happened since with any species I work with.

Do you know how long they might have submerged, and how long into incubation did you lose those 3 eggs?

Hard to tell I check my animal in the AM to pull out eggs if there are any and usually they will lay at night.

I lost them within the first week.

Re: Eggs laid in water bowl

Just to update, lost the 6 eggs and left with only 2..but I did get great odds with the remaining two. One was a bamboo pinstripe, and the second was a bamboo spinnerblast.
