    Soft drinks are a mix of flavoring and soda water, that were sold at ​soda fountains. The people behind the counter were soda clerks, but commonly called soda jerks. You could order a number of flavored sodas, or even an ice cream soda.

    I call it soda, though most of western ny calls it pop.
