That is awesome! I never thought about using PVC to make my own snake gym but now I have a number of ideas.
Thanks for sharing!

I don't know the size of the snake in there but make sure there is no way for the snake to enter the holes of the tile grid.I've seen snakes get stuck in objects here before and it is usually always a delicate situation to get them out with injury.
If there is a danger the snake can crawl in the grip a mod you could do is cut the down legs and add a T. This would let you put another horizontal piece of pipe on each side giving a replacement to the grid.
You may be interested in scorching the PVC too for a more cosmetic appeal.

Yup, I thought about that! I don't think the grid holes are going to cause any issues based on his size, but I'll be checking on him pretty closely in the first few weeks to see if he's going to get himself into trouble. You never know, right?
I've got T-joints in mind if I do end up needing to modify it at all. And for when I build something bigger and more complex for my ball python.
My fiancée and I have been considering spray painting with an appropriate paint and sealer, actually. I hadn't thought of scorching it, though, thanks for the tip! I bet that looks really neat.

Rust-oleum makes that paint that makes it look like stone. I'm planning on using that when I end up upgrading my enclosures and building the snakes some jungle gyms.

Pretty cool idea for enrichment, I bet BPs would love stuff like that too. I already keep some PVC pipes (2") in my enclosure so my boy can move around without being seen, if he wants to.
