Spray painted wood - is it toxic?

Hi guys, I had an idea for my Blue Tongue Skink and royal python.
I have a pair of wooden cloggs (I'm half dutch) And they're huge. size 12 or 13. VERY comfy... but not practical. So my partner suggested we make them into a hide, which we did. I cut the side off so they have a shoe shaped hide made of wood. I don't know what wood it is, but it's very soft and light coloured.
I have since spray painted them, after sanding them smooth so they don't hurt my babies


Can anyone tell me if spray paint is harmful? Obviously I have let it dry and will let it air/cure for a week before I put it in their enclosure.
If anyone needs specific ingredients I can get them

It says on the can ( a bit late to read it now but hey )

"Irritating to skin. Very toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment."


I guess that answers my question, unless I'm being too paranoid?

You can seal the paint after it dries with a clear coat, but you will then have to let that dry completely so that's three are no fumes before you put it into their enclosures.
