Re: brb hasn't eaten in 6 months

I'll increase the temps by a degree or two and try feeding him in the cage. Right now I have the probe attached to the bottom corner of the cool side. If I set the temp to 75F using a herpstat (proportionally) and room is at or above 75F, will the herpstat still keep the temps in the 80s on the hot side?

Take the hot side to 85-86*F, like mentioned above so probe should be on side of tub set to mentioned temps.

If the probe is registering the temp it is set to or one higher it will not turn on the heating device. You may need to raise the temp on the tstat and/or move the probe.

This is how I mount my probe for my rhp. I glue a cable strap to the rim of the rhp and then glue the probe inside it. I use super glue and they have been mounted for years like this with no issues.

Re: brb hasn't eaten in 6 months

I might have to move the probe to the hot side during the summer months. So I increased the temp on the cool side by 2 degrees and he finally ate. About time! I didn't take him out of the cage, just opened the sliding glass door and he grabbed the rat instantly.

If you're asking where to buy cable straps. Any hardware store will have them. They come in packs.

I also use cable straps to secure foliage to my cage walls for my GTP and ETB.

They are intended to secure wires to walls like they do in my cages to secure my power wires for my lights and rhp's. As you can see they have other great uses as well.

Great that it ate! They need certain environments. When they have it they are much easier to deal with.
