How do you tell Het from Normal?
I've read a couple of genetics pages that give a basic expectation on what to expect when a certain morph is bred to another morph. A lot of these examples include 100% hets, and some normals. How do you tell them apart? Do they just have to be proven eventually, or can you actually tell by their coloring?

There is not a way to tell a het. for a recessive gene from a normal. They both will look the same. In order to be sure that you are getting a 100% het, you should buy from a reputable bp breeder. To determine if a 50% or 66% possible het carries the gene, you must prove it out through breeding.

As Daniel suggested buy from reputable breeder. With recessive genetics (most current python morphs are recessive) the only way to get 100% hets is to either prove them through breeding, or to breed a 100% het to the actual morph. For example, breeding an Albino to a 100% het Albino will produce Albino's and 100% hets.

Has some excellent genetics information, including what possibilities will exist when breeding different morphs. If you haven't read this already, make sure to read the section on Triple Hets. Get's pretty whacky at that point, and after years of breeding, imagine having an Albino Clown Piebald
