Please help!! Clear scales and discolored stomach scales
Hello all
I bought a female piedball about a month ago. She has been eating regularly. She won't get frozen so I had to get live and just recently starting her on pre killed. The last live one scratched her pretty good. I cleaned it and put neosporin on it for a few days until it healed up I have her cage at 60% humidity and hot spot at 92 the cold side is sitting at 84. There are a lot of scales falling off and her stomach is discolored I had bps a few years ago but had to get rid of them do to getting deployed. I never had this issue before and just worried what it is and if I need to take her to the vet. Any advice will be much appreciated.i have a pic but can't upload it.
Thanks
Chris

could the "scales falling off" be part of an old shed coming off?

It would be very helpful if you could upload a photo, are you using the Tapatalk app? It makes it much easier to upload a photo especially from your phone. As for your bp, did u check to see if nesoporin is safe for snakes?

Photos would probably go a long way.

Well its not the best pic had to do it one handed. And yes actually I read on this forum that it was safe as long as it didn't have the pain reliever in it. And the second pic is the clear scales that are falling off. I don't know when her last she'd was because she hasn't she'd since I have had her. The scales on her stomach look almost brown. I'm just worried it is some sort of scale rot

How often and how long did you use the neosporin for? The problem with Neosporin and many other ointment is that they are oil based and usually only recommended short term for a snake since oil based ointment will loosen up scales and make them fall.

No problem I was the same way, I couldn't figure out how to post photos for the life of me! Unfortunately I'm a relatively new bp owner so I dont have a ton of experience with things like this but I know snakes can lose scales and be perfectly fine. Just keep calm and dont freak out right away. There are some great, really knowledgeable people here who really know how to help!
