Dexter - My New 2016 Male Matrix Het T+ Albino

Here are a few photos of my new Matrix boy that I picked up to go with my female in the future. I named him Dexter and he is a total sweetheart. I can't get over how much bigger he is than my 2016 Sumatrans. This boy weighs in at 347 grams, whereas my male Sumatran only weighs 247 grams and my female Sumatran is 270 grams. I realize that Sumatrans are usually much smaller than Bloods as adults, but is it normal for them to be that much smaller throughout all the earlier stages of growth as well?

Thanks. As we all know, photos definitely fail to show these beautiful animals true colors, though...

It seems like all depends on how often and what they are fed, I haven't noticed much difference when young. My 2016 blood is already about the size of my 2015 borneo boy because one eats anything and the other is picky and wants live mice. But my 2015 borneo girl is huge because she's a piggy too. My sstp is the oldest and still the biggest so far but my older blood is only about a pound less at a year younger.

    Beautiful Blood!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Just an update on this big baby boy... At the time my daughter was taking the above photos last week, Dexter struck at her once while she was trying to take one of the close-up pictures. Tonight I had him out for some "US" time and he had been sitting and crawling around on my hands and arms (while I was standing)... My daughter was standing maybe 3' or 4' in front of me just watching and all of the sudden, Dexter just threw himself completely out of my hands lunging at her trying to bite her and fell to the carpeted floor (which sucks!)... He let me pick him right back up without incident and I put him away. He seems to be alright from the fall, fortunately. My daughter on the other hand, is probably traumatized! lol What baffles me about this incident is, I was looking directly at my daughter when this happened and I know for a fact that she wasn't moving her hands or moving around fast or being loud or anything. Any idea what would make this guy do that?

And, yes... From now on I will be sitting down at all times while i'm holding my Bloods and Short Tails!

They can be crazy jumpy like that, things you don't notice seem to startle them and they jerk back or strike fast. Probably just started watching her instead of you and got insecure. They seem to much prefer being fully supported vs in the air and a flailing one isn't fun. On the ground they will turn themselves around by throwing the back end around, pretty funny to see.

It might take some convincing my daughter to do it that's for sure! LOL! I will definitely be taking much better pictures of all my snakes soon, though. My new Marbles... Oh my goodness... I'm in love with them, too! It's starting to be really hard to say which of my snakes is my favorite! I just wanna kiss all of their faces off! lol
