Bite poll
I'm sure there have been plenty of these but I just wanted to make one out of my own worries! Other than the poll, PLEASE rate 1-10 on pain scale!

I'm sure there are, but I wanted one for myself with my questions.

Feeding response bite from a hatchling ball, didn't even FEEL it. I didn't know it was there until I happened to look down at my hand and saw two tiny drops of blood!
Defensive bite from my 1 year 7 month old Tanimbar scrub python on her first handling session. I was staring straight at her as it happened, and she dug in left and right with her head for a second to make sure she got me real good!
It looked like this!
Hard to see, but it's those two dots there barely in my skin. It did bleed and hurt like if you accidentally pricked yourself with a needle though, but that's it. I said "ow".
Ease your worries. LOL

the absolute worst bite I ever receved from a ball python was when i had to clean a mess in her cage and she was heavly gravid (actualy laid that night) and as I said in the other thread you have about bites it hurt less than a cat scratch or bee sting now that being said I did have a 16.5 foot berm bite me and that kinda felt like someone ran a steak knife into my hand (oh wait she did) but ball python bites shock you far more than they hurt you
Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

Re: Bite poll
I took a bite from a large female that hit me on a feeding response. She hit so hard she left 4 teeth in my hand and it literally bruised from the pressure. That is the only bite from a ball python that I would say truly hurt. The rest are startling and feel like a getting stuck by a thorn or briar.

I was in the big girls tub spot cleaning, mixing up the coco and refilling her water. She was letting me know my time was up and for me to get out
Happened so fast I wasnt sure if she headbutted me or a bite. Had to squeeze hand for tiny blood droplets to form. Learned my lesson, in and out!

you needed a "that's all you got?" category. i let one of my girls strike me three times in a row. i have had sneezes that hurt more. the worst bite i ever got from an animal was from an iguana i was stupidly hand feeding a banana. went all the way to the bone.

I heard of one instance where an ig bit THROUGH it's keeper's kevlar glove and into bone. I still have a faint little line of scar in almost a perfect circle on the bony part of my wrist where my old girl bit me years ago when she was a hatchling still being tamed. Those bites are not to be messed with

I believe it. the initial bite is not so bad but when they make the little left to right movement with the lower jaw it saws into you like a serrated knife.
