Is wooden rod safe for ball pythons?

    Hi,

I'm building a square shape from wooden rod for my ball pythons to climb on.

I would like to know if there is any risk of using the wooden rod? can it heart them in any way?

That is the one I would like to use:

    Thank you!

Wood is going to absorb liquids and be hard to clean. I would look at using pvc for something like you are proposing.

Wouldn't the pic or plastic tubing be too slippery to climb around ??

It would be alright- most people use pvc pipes for arboreal species, and that's even more slippery to us.

I use PVC to make climbing structures for my snakes. Works great.
