    Freshly shed matrix

Hello everyone, I have a blood python again for the first time in five years and I'm very excited about it. She was shipped to me blue a couple weeks ago (which did not get in the way of her eating lol) and shed out this morning looking mighty fine imo! So this is the first real look I've had at her. She was sold to me as a female yearling from Scales and Tails of Ohio. In the "shedding chamber":

I call her Prima. I really love all of her specks and freckles.

Very pretty girl! Glad to see she had a nice full, even shed for you! How old is she? Was she just laying at a weird angle or does she seem like she might be a little thin to you?

Said to be around a year. Yes I do think she was/is a bit thin, she looked dry and overly wrinkled when I unboxed her too. Gave her a weak water-Gatorade soak and she drank a ton. I'm pretty confident she'll take a f/t rat tonight though. She ate a small one on the 30th without giving me any trouble.

Here's what she looked like in poor lighting a few days after I got her, right before I decided she needed some electrolytes.

It sounds like she is in good hands now. I'm sure you'll get her fattened right up! Just be sure to give her lots of humidity with plenty of ventilation. I mist my Bloods and Short Tails tubs down really good daily and they seem to do best with temperatures around the mid 80's (on the hot side), but they seem to hang around in the middle of their tubs most of the time, which is around 78 - 80 degrees and towards the front, which is around 75 degrees...

    Thanks for sharing!

    Re: Freshly shed matrix

Here she is a month later after another shed, with a much better picture in natural window light. Very yellow irl!

She hasn't even considered missing a meal Was getting one small rat a week but now I'll cut her back to 10 days. Only trouble I'm having is keeping the humidity up, I live in the NV desert.

She is looking great, Lisa. It definitely looks like you've put some weight on her, too! Glad to see she is doing good!

Hello all! I came back to this thread to check the date and thought I'd drop off some update pics. She is now just over two years old, about 32" long, and a couple pounds. This spring she went off feed for three months for no discernible reason but resumed with vigor at the beginning of July. I also got a better camera lol.
