Re: Help me understand Axanthic morph?

Ok that makes sense. I picked mine based on clean lines and not really the morph per say since I have no interest in breeding. I do find it interesting though and it seems understanding the concepts even for a pet is important. I would hate to go spend a chunk of change on a axanthic that is white and black and not know ahead of time it might not stay that way.

Pastels brown out too, depending on the line and parentage. My own lessers get brighter and brighter and brighter over time, I believe both lessers and butters do that, and for the gene as a whole.

Yeah it all depends on the morph, the line, the parentage, and sometimes even the individual snake.

And there are varying degrees of quality in the lines as well. This is my 0.1 VPI. She's 3 and shows no signs of browning....yet. Fingers crossed.
