    Jekyll the Sand Boa sees sand for the first time!

    They will burrow under most substrates as I understand it . The breeder of mine said not to use sand but I can't for the life of me remember why !?!?

    He suggested Walnut husks or something but it proved difficult to source ...

    Mine is happy as Larry under Orchid bark .

    They will burrow in anything I'm sure . I think there are some sands you have to be careful with if they ingest it since some sand can be machine crushed rock that has sharp edges. The sand I have is high grade reptile sand (has a pic of a sand boa right on the front ) that should be fine (I feed him in a separate container).


    I love to watch him burrow!
