Help me, it's my first snake!

    Hi everybody!
(First of all excuse me for my poor English ..)

I've got a BRB 4 days ago, and i have many issues with humidity and temperature and substrate and...!

This is what i made as an enclosure :

I used coconut chips as substrate but it did not keep humidity and always it goes up and down.. I used water bowl and vaporizer and water spray... But humidity only increase for a while and damp again.. I'm tired of checking the thermometer!

I want everyone who knows anything about BRB to help me about these question :
    1. How much should be humidity in enclosure?
    2. How old is him in your opinion?

    3. What are deadline things which i should worry the most? (Things kill my boy!)
    4. Help me with everything you know and like to suggest me
    .

    I'm so worried..

First, relax. I looked at the pictures of the snake and the enclosure in your gallery. Your snake could go for several months before it needs to eat, it's not a baby.

Second, what is the warm side temperature/basking area in the enclosure? BRB's should have a warm side 85-86*F (29-30*C), the rest of the enclosure should be around 75*F (24*C).

Third, if you can't keep humidity up I would suggest taking tape and covering most of the ventilation holes in the door. Apply the tape to the OUTSIDE of the door/enclosure, not inside where the snake has access to it.

Re: Help me, it's my first snake!

hi bcr229.. thank you..indeed ! you calm me down.. i'm proud of being familiar with you...

i have this type of UTH (below) , and i dont now how to decrease its heat!
the warm side temperature (as you see) is 38.4 *C !

any lamp or ceramic warmer would be suggested..? (i think you may laugh at my grammar!..:/ )

for humidity, i made this humid hide :

    but three question if you have time;

    1) at 11:00 am till now, BRB is in it! is'nt it harmful for it?! (respiratory infection and anything else? )
    2) this type of moss, has some ant and soil.. its okay?
    3) how can i know the humidity level in humid hide is okay?

    thank you
forgive me for bothering you.. with questions.. and grammar.. and everything..

You need to plug your uth into a thermostat so you can control the temperature. Since I too am just starting out I got a Zilla thermostat with probe to control my uth. It looks like this
