Ambient temp and humidity help!

I just ordered my first ball python. It's an 850 gram banana ball python. I have a 37 qt. bin ready for him. I've got a hot spot in the high 80s low 90s using a uth. Right now my humidity sensor is reading that it's 90% humidity. Which is way too high. Will drilling in more holes help control this? If so, where? I also need help raising the ambient temp. It's 70 degrees above the uth and 65 on the cold side.

Definitely add a few more holes and keep the water over on the cool side for now. Add a few holes then check it again. Holes should be on the sides of the tub. Mine are towards the top of the sides and have holes on all 4 sides. On the hot side do you have a thermometer on the inside? If it is only reading 70 then you have to turn up the heat on the uth so the belly temp is closer to 88-90. Use a thermostat to control the uth but also have a thermometer with a probe on the hot side to see what the temp is.

How warm is the room? To warm up the cool side with a tub you can use a room heater to raise the ambient room temperature which is what I do for now. The other suggested method is another uth on a separate thermostat on the cool side. Keep in mind the uth is meant for belly heat and may not warm up the air above.

I doubled the amount of holes. The thermometers in the cage are where I'm getting my information. My heat controller doesn't have a probe, so I'm dependent on what the in cage thermometers say.

If your setup is in a small room where you can put a space heater to help raise the ambient temperature that will help. It's what I've had to do to keep the temps at a cozy 77-80 degrees for mine. If there is another way to achieve that with a tub, I've not seen it yet.

I got a space heater and changed my substrate from eco earth to aspen. I got ambient temps up a lot. High 80s on the warm end and about 78 on the cold end. He's got a heat mat under his hide on the warm end so it's nice and warm for him down their. Humidity is much lower now, down from about 90 to 55. Thanks for your help!

same here. only use in wintertime or if the ambient temps drop below 75, but yea my room gets hot too mid 80's to mid 90, when that happens i just turn of the hot spot and just watch the humidity.
