Normal tank behavior?

Hey guys, I recently got my first BP Beatrice. Shes about 26 according to the rescue I bought her from and I've been feeding her on a 7 day cycle so far, which is what i was told she was used to. She has been good about accepting food and hasn't rejected anything yet.

So even keeping her normal feeding habits, she still likes to wander the tank and crawl the walls poking her head against the top of the tank, and she does this every night. Is this normal getting used to a new home or should I be feeding her more or bigger rats? I'm still new to owning a snake and I want to make sure her now home is comfortable. Temps seem normal humidity is around 50~ and she seems to sleep in her hide most of the day and occasionally she'll spend parts with her head hanging out of the hide, but come around 8:30 its wandering time.

Constantly moving around and trying to get out (poking head up at the top) is a sign of stress.

This is her third week in her new home so I'm still mostly just on the essentials for dressing it up. They said her previous home was a plastic tote and she didnt much care for that method of housing.

Plastic totes are often great places for BPs to be -_-

Anyway, that hide looks HUGE. Also, you may want more than one hide. Hides are often best when they are very tight around the snake, because it offers a greater sense of security

For the snake to feel more secure I would cover the back and the two sides of the enclosure with dark fabric, paper, or something like that. Something to close the enclosure off to light and make the tank feel smaller to the snake. This will make the snake feel more secure. Ball Pythons like to hide, they spend the vast majority of their time hidden in dark, tight spaces where they feel safe. If the snake is cruising the tank it is looking for a place to feel safe and warm and is unable to find one. This is when we need to make adjustments.
So after wrapping the 3 sides, I would add another hide, you want one on the cool end and one on the warm end.
Adding some fake plants and clutter would also help to make the snake feel secure.
