    My New Dumeril's Boa

Just got him over a week ago. Gave him time to settle in - offered his first feeding 5 days in and he ate without hesitation. Gave him a few days to digest and attempted my first handling.

Only kept him out for maybe 10 minutes just to get acquainted with him. As I getting ready to put him back in his enclosure - he let out a huge pee on me LOL. I have never had that happen. I was shocked.

I'm just curious - was this just bad timing - he had to go and let it loose or was it done deliberately??

    Just wondering is all.

I'm hoping it was just bad timing. He seemed very calm and good natured while I was holding him.

Probably just timing, exercise seems to get things moving.

    Congrats!!!

It happens... handling and movement is known to help snakes defecate/pee LOL. I've had that happen with a couple of my ball pythons initially, because I didn't take notice of sausage butt before taking them out.

This is why I like warmer weather - the snakes with sausage butt get to exercise on the lawn.
