That's a great photo DB! Besides being beautiful, they are so satisfying to watch when they are in arboreal mode.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

OK, successful feed! As described earlier, I waited until she came out on her branch after dark. Thawed in hot water, dried off, and left to sit near her cage for about 15 minutes so some scent might spread around. I opened the cage and it took her a few seconds to think about it and smell it and then she struck from her perch. The delay may have been due to the larger sized prey.

Anyway, she constricted it hanging in the air and was able to hold onto it with some coils while she adjusted her head into position. I was trying to leave her alone so I missed the actual swallowing but maybe next time. I just looked over and the mouse wasn't hanging in the air anymore so I thought maybe she dropped it but then I didn't see it on the ground either

Yeah, I can't wait to see how she develops over time, especially the pale saddles - I'm curious whether they turn more yellow, more white, or what.

DB - what a looker you have there, congratulations.

I'm on the fence right now with adding another snake to my collection. I'm not into this for breeding, just collecting and the idea of a carpet really intrigues me. I read the entire thread and gained a lot of information about carpets, the questions you asked are some of the same I have so I thank you for posting and the other carpet owners for responding.

I'll be following your posts and hopefully seeing more pictures of your acquisition. By the way - did you pick a name for her?
