So on day 63 I checked and 2 had fully come out on their own, 3 had pipped and 2 (i thought had died a while ago) had done nothing. This was about 7 days sooner than expected.
I cut the two that had not pipped and found 1 live healthy baby and 1 that was fairly underdeveloped baby that was alive but passed before the morning. On close inspection it appeared to be an albino, had no kinks just appeared to have stopped developing. The egg had developed a large crease in the underside that appeared to pinch the baby. Not sure if this was the cause or the result of the issue. The results are as follows;
7 eggs -
1 pinstripe
1 blackpin
3 albino pin (hard to tell if they are blackpins or just pins at the moment)
1 albino black pastel.
We are sad for the loss of the 7th but 6 healthy babies for our pairs first go is pretty good imo. Also we proved out the het albino of our female which is good. We still have 2 chilling in their eggs so I will try to post pics once they are all out.
On a side note our albino spider female just went off feed 2 weeks ago so she may have finally taken after breeding last Nov. She'd had an insatiable appetite for the previous few months then just went cold turkey and is looking rather plump. Fingers crossed.
