    Our new Python, Monty

Not the most original of names for sure, but it seems to suit him. Picked him up on saturday and besides a major panic with a broken glass door he looks to be settling in well.

I believe the blushing is the lightened areas. (On the black areas where it looks faded) At least I think that's right.

    Re: Our new Python, Monty

I believe he is is half pastel if that explains the blushing?
The genetics of bp morphs is totally unknown to me, is there a table anywhere giving the inheritance of each (dominant, recessive, co-dominant etc)? I can't seem top find one in teh FAQs.

The man in the shop showed me some very special pythons, gorgeous lemon pastel hatchlings, adult cinnamon pastel and piebald (the latter two are nearly getting into deposit on new flat territory (outside London that is!), terrifying price tags!).

    Re: Our new Python, Monty

This site might help you. It really is a nice site and helped me a lot to figure out at least the basics of ball python genetics.

    www.ballpythons.ca

If you click around the site you'll find explanations as well as pictures to explain the differences in simple recessive, co-dominant and dominant traits.

    Re: Our new Python, Monty

here is a directly link to the genetics page because some of the genetic links on the that site seem to be down: http://www.ballpythons.ca/genetics.html ....just click on recessive, co-dominant, and dominant. That page offers a great visual.

I would also suggest reading to get a more detailed description of how the genetics work:
