Lightbulb Maximum lifespan: alone or colony?

    Hey guys,
i recently purchased a group of females that I am planning on keeping in a 40 Breeder as a colony (3 females). I also bought my prize male that I will be using on the group. He is worth a lot and I would like for him to be ab Breeder of mine for 20+ years. I am debating putting him with the females permanently in the 40 or getting him a 20 long alone and mixing him in when I would like to breed him. I am fine with breeding at any time as I have an incubator running year round. Wondering what you guys thing will allow him to live the longer lifespan. Would appreciate the advice.

Re: Maximum lifespan: alone or colony?

Ok let's start off by saying I've never owned a Leo for 20 years but
I don't think for males colony vs alone or breeding vs not breeding will
Have any major effect on life span as it could in females.
As a former breeder of Leos I would replace my males about
Every 2 to 3 years to insure maximum performance . I would expect potency
To diminish as the gecko ages . I can't say exactly when you would see
any kind of drop off in production but 20 seems like a bit of a stretch
