Where are the Super Black Pastels?

Hi. I'm a noob when it comes to morphs, but want to get a cool python. I did some searching around and really like the look of the Super Black Pastels. However, I cannot find them for sale anywhere. I don't know if I'm just blind or if there is a good reason. I heard about the morphs having some common health problems like a duckbill, so is this the case? Thanks for helping out a forum scrub.

You can find some but not many due to the high probability of hatching deformed animals. so not many people want to work with them.

I'm trying to hatch some in the next year or two though!

Thank you. I will continue my hunt. They're too pretty for people to give up on!

People give up because babies have a risk of hatching with kinked spines. This impacts quality of life and health of the animal. "Too pretty" is a secondary concern to the health and well being of our animals.

It's just like with the caramels. Caramel albino is a beautiful morph but the kinking has discouraged a lot of people. Luckily, ultramels exist to fill the gap.

I'm not sure what your budget is but you might want to look into Sumas if you can't find a super black pastel. The sumas are really dark with a neat orangey striping down their back

This gene combo seems very promising for an all black bp without the genetic issues.

That's exactly what I was thinking of lol Finding a super pastel would definitely be easier though (and a lot cheaper)
