Looking for next cage up ideas!
She's good in the tank she's in now, but I'm thinking about in the next few years when she gets bigger. I'd like to have her set up for a while so I don't disturb her idea of home. Does anyone have any advice they can give me? Like Glass VS Plastic, or what kind of hidey holes they like best? I would greatly appreciate it as she is the first python I have taken care of and have only had her for a day.

I use to use glass terrariums but after doing extensive research I decided to go with animal plastics and got a couple of there cages. I got them in and couldn't be happier with them. hold heat and humidity very very well. easy clean up and my snakes seem to enjoy them.

Plastic like acrylic, or like sterilite bins? I've heard of people using both and I would love to know the benefits! Also, what kind of hidey holes do yours like? The half log I got Hecate doesn't seem to be going over too well.

Also, I tend to be very affectionate/touchy feely with my companion creatures, and is that a problem after the 3-4 day acclimation to her new home and outside shedding/feeding times? (Sorry, I know that's not my original question but the chat isn't active atm)

there acrylic, look up animal plastics, I purchased there T8 cages and have those going now till the T10's come in. I have them set up with radiant heat panels from pro products and I use hides from reptile basics. there plastic. I use to use the half logs as well, but after a mite issue I tossed them due to them being difficult to clean thoroughly to rid the mites.

Re: Looking for next cage up ideas!
I prefer Animal Plastics cages. They're very well made, easy to assemble, and modestly priced. I mostly use the box hides from Reptile Basics. The snakes seem to like them.

AP-T8's are definitely the way to go. If you like pretty things I would look for more naturalistic type enclosure furnishings and really make the inside stand out. Pet-tekk has some great stuff in that direction.
