Gina the Rio Bravo Pokigron Suriname progression thread

Well, i havent seen Gina in about 3 days so i decided to make sure she was in shed and yup, her eyes are all blue and she was all curled up behind her cool hide being antisocial lol. It amazing how small of a little ball they can make themselves into. Sorry for the blurriness. Didnt want to really bug her. Cant wait for her to shed as this will be the first shed with me.

Well Giba had a perfect shed yesterday and went back to her social self. Got a few pics but when she is outside, she wants to explore more than sit still for pics lol. sorry for the less than stellar pics but Gina was going to do what she wanted to do.

Gotta love boas and their willingness to eat. Fed everyone except Luna yesterday. So i get Luna her mouse today and i guess the little boas smelled the mouse because Rango was sitting outside his hide with his face glued to the door and Gina attacked the door 2 times as i walked by. Then when i stopped to look at her, she popped up and came to the front of the door hovering over the floor doing the little "I'm going to strike" sway lol. Well now that the mouse is gone, Rango is sitting on the floor and Gina has laid back down. They just ate yesterday too, cant believe the little piggies are already hungry lol.

My buddy has two Gus Pokis and the female is gravid.

That is not good for me LOL!

I'd seriously consider placing our royal, which is so unlike me, to have one.

If my wife didn't care about any of this I'd already be gearing up and I'd never consider placing anything.

Sadly I'm out at 4 LOL.

Keep wearing down the wife lol. I mean one more snake isn't that bad if you got 4 already...but then there is always 'the one more' snake lol.

Or yeah, I mean if you really don't care for the BP and your son isn't really hip on it anymore, then rehome it and get a Poki.

That's how it was with Allison. I mean I liked her but to me, keeping something that you are scared of or don't want or has habits that you really dislike, it's better for the animal and you to part ways because in the long run you will regret keeping it and the animal could possibly suffer because of it.

For me, I love Dottie even though she is my pet rock. She seems much happier in a T10 than a T8. The first night in her T10, she slept out in the open and the next day, she ate a small rat and weaned rat like a champ. The bigger cage seems to have sparked her feeding again lol.

I really couldn't get rid of any of my snakes now as each of them have a special place in my heart now.

So since I got a T10 and T8 empty, I can probably swing 2 more animals. Like I've said, I've always wanted a Gila so I'm pretty sure the T10 will have one of those and for the T8, I'm debating on a Pucallpa Peruvian or Peruvian Long tail BCL. But it wont be for a few months at least. I need to get a few more things squared away here first like a small chest freezer for snake food as the snakes and especially Harley my beardie are eating me out of house and home lol. Harley LOVES her hornworms so I'm going through tubs of 20 every week or less lol. And hornworms are pretty freakin expensive.

Guess Gina is getting hungry. She is practicing her 'windshield washing' of the cage doors lol.

Caught Gina in her 'dark phase' today. You can really see her little eyelashes now and her red cheeks lol.

Well it was pretty freakin hot today. I got the window open and the room fan going. Louie was soaking in his bowl. Vicky was hanging half outside the cage. Caesar was pushing until I opened his door and then he cooled down and went into his hide to relax. Gina was windshield wiping so slid her door open too and she found the perfect spot to sit to cool off lol.


I'm pretty excited to get her a boyfriend from Chris. Hopefully I have the cash on hand when the time comes haha. Going have to put on blinders so I quit looking at snakes as I only got 1 AP cage left but I do have 2 40 gallon breeders with flexwatt hooked up to them haha. My god, I feel like a crack addict but with snakes

Colors are coming in nice on her. Suris get better as they age. At least for the first 4 years. She's a smoker!

Nice looking BCC!

I know what you mean about addiction lol. I am currently at my max with 10 snakes (plus some geckos, a BTS, and some frogs). I would love to get a BCC and a breeding pair of BCL eventually, but for that to happen I feel I have to downsize elsewhere.. Problem is, I don't want to rehome any of the ones I currently have lol. Add to that the fact that I'm running short on room in my reptile room, so for now I'll just have to live vicariously.
