Question Shipping BP from warm area to cold area?

I'm wondering what is a safe overnight/daytime temperature range for the area that I have to ship a BP to? Someone is interested in buying Togetic, my youngest BP who is currently about 300g. But the buyer lives in Minnesota, and their overnight HIGH is only 35, which I'm assuming is way too cold.

The reason is that where I am is in the 80's now, so obviously I can't put in a heat pack. Things would be easier if we both lived in a cold area lol.

Yes, a high of 35 is too cold.

Here's a good place to look for tips on how to ship in (almost) any weather conditions:

Thanks! So since I'm not able to use a heat pack, I'm only able to ship if the buyer's daytime average is maybe 50 degrees?

What about overnight temps, does that matter?

Keep in mind that when shipping you want to get an idea of the temp in 3 locations, so you can ship even if there is a differential but there are important things to keep in mind.

Origin: (at the time of shipping) most people will drop of their animal in the late evening to reduce the time the animal has to spend in the box, I make my drop off at 6 pm.

Main hub: Usually your snake will arrive at the main hub around 11 pm and may remain there until 5 am. You will only know what the main hub when printing your label. The first letter or number will determine which hub your box is going to.

    A Fort Worth TX

    W Oakland CA

    N Indianapolis IN

    X Memphis TN

    Q Los Angeles CA

    Numbers Newark, NJ

Destination: The temp at destination should be within proper range at the time of delivery which will be in most cases around 10.30 am, having high of 35 likely means 35 around 2 pm which mean it will even be cooler at the time of arrival.

When dealing with low temps have your animal held for pickup at the hub. Also always ship Monday through Wednesday, avoid shipping on Thursdays.

I have been shipping for 10 years and the temps in all 3 location must be at least 38 for me to ship, if they are not I will delay shipping.

All the snakes I've ordered in winter have shipped to me in April I think, maybe one in March, on days with with lows above 40 and highs at least 50.

Thanks so much for the info Deborah, that helps a lot!

She says her overnight high is 35, but didn't mention daytime. Does overnight temps matter?

Generally speaking packages makes it to their destination hub before being dispatched for delivery around 6, 7 am so I really rely on that + temps at the time of delivery

I have an app on my phone when I check temps in all 3 areas, it gives me the temps hour by hour and I also based my guess work on the previous day to get an even more accurate idea. The app is Accuweather
