    Frozen rodent suppliers?

Who do you all use to buy bulk frozen rodents online?

I know of Rodent pro, but had a bad experience with them once. Our local guys stock has been of dubious quality of late so I am contemplating a bulk order.

Big Cheese Rodent Factory & Perfect Prey are two that I've used - both are great.

    Re: Frozen rodent suppliers?

I'm a big fan of Perfect Prey and Big Cheese as well. I mostly use Perfect Prey though because Big Cheese is often sold out of the medium and large rats I need. Both companies are much better than Rodent Pro imo.

Just looked at Big Cheese and they have what I need so I'm going to try them. I got two bags of mice from Rodent Pro once that were missing their heads. And the guy I usually get mine from at the local show sold me a bag with all the throats slit and blood drained. Makes a crazy mess and most of my snakes won't eat them.

That is a very serious foul. Lab animals are not undergoing experiments to make them healthy and nutritious, they are usually being treated with something harmful to gauge the effects, which could easily be passed on to an animal who then consumes the rats. Dr Fredric L Frye documented a case wherein a boa was fed a diet of obese lab rats that had been on an experimental diet of sunflower seeds (high fat, no vitamin E) and died of steatitis caused by vitamin E deficiency. And those were lab rats that were just on a poor diet, imagine the other things that they could be passing on to your snake.

I'm fortunate enough to have a local guy I can go to and buy direct, and his prices are good. I can see if he delivers if any of you are interested. Fuzzy Acres Rodents, they are on facebook.
