The Good news: She shed for me! first one, and its perfect!

The ambivalent news: she has not grown at all

    [IMG][/IMG]

Meh, its been all of 5 weeks, i'm not stressing, i remember Irwin only put on 1.5 inches from March to May then hit his big summer growth spurt.

She's still my sweet little girl.

Congrats on your cool Boa! Love the name too.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

OK, its a bit behind schedule, but i measured her on June 20 and she had put on 3 and 1/4 inches!

The other good news coming just today is that she ate her first rat!
The mice were just looking a bit small and i dont like the idea of feeding multiple items in one meal. The next size up available at the big box store by me (the only options in my neck of the woods) is a small rat which is way too big. I needed proper weaned rats! But all i could find were online shops with minimum orders of 25 with $40 shipping. Then, hazzah! i found a guy who was relatively local, about an hour and half away, with beautiful weanlings for $1.25 and he was happy to freeze up just 10 for me since i was picking them up in person - i also grabbed 1/2 dozen smalls for Irwin at $1.50 instead of $5.00 from the store!

But the really amazing news?? My wife actually held her!! Afterward she acted like she was grossed out, but i caught her looking like a very content snake-lady; there may be hope yet!

    She's a BIGGUN'!
well, not really, but she's grown to a staggering 3' 4" And today i gave her her first small rat! she'd been on weanlings since forever and it occurred to me that she's actually bigger than Irwin was when he was on smalls (see below) and the weaned rats were looking kind of pathetic next to her. She gobbled it up without missing a beat!

Heres a composite i made of her this month at 21 months old, and Irwin when he was 23 months old The blue lines are to check that the dollar "rulers" were correctly scaled (no pun intended)
