Female Dumeril's Boa growth
I'm looking to get a Dumeril's Boa. I understand that they are slow growers and eat less often so I was wondering about how long a female could live in a cb70 tub. Maybe I should just get a male and not worry about having to ever move him but I do like the size of the females. Anybody raise a female from baby to full grown? How long until the cb70 is too small?

My female outgrew her 110 qt sterilite (3 foot long with some height) when she was around 3 years old.
I wouldn't put a male in a cb70 for life either though. That's too small for any adult dum. Particularly since they're burrowing snakes and like thick substrates and leaf litter.
Technically, dumeril's grow for life. Just the rate of growth slows down by a lot when they're around 5 years old.

Ok so even if I go with a male I'll eventually need move him out the tub to maybe a 4'x2'x2' cage. What size cage would a female adult need? How long can a male live in a cb70?

I assume males would also fit in cb70 until around 3, depending on the individual.
Yeah a 4x2x2 would be perfect for males! I have my 3.5 year old female in that size right now, and she's about 5 and a half feet in length. She might outgrow it maybe 2~3 years down the line lol. If you want to buy just one enclosure size for a female and be safe, I'd get 5x2 or even 6x2.

Re: Female Dumeril's Boa growth
A cb70/41qt would support a dumi for around 3-4 years depending on feeding all of mine except my male eats once a week so most of my females are getting big pretty fast!
Have a GREAT day!!

My 7foot girl is in a 6x2.5 with a shelf. I'm considering moving her into an 8x2 but it doesn't have a shelf, and she seems to really like hanging out on the shelf she currently has.
