DIY Rock Background Tutorial?

I'm building my first one now. Actually applied my 2nd layer of mortar/foam coat this afternoon. What kind of problems did you run into and what kind of questions do you have. I'm not crazy experienced but I've watched a crapload of videos and have at least experienced my share of issues.
