Question New Hognose Mom - Feeding/Handling

Hi everyone! I'm a new hognose mommy , I've had a bearded dragon in the past but this is my first snake. I'm a little unsure how to make sure I am feeding him enough. I've had him about 2-3 weeks and been feeding him 1 pinky once a week. The breeder said they fed him once a week on a maintenance diet. He was hatched in July and weighs about 22g.
Also, he basically hates being handled. I read in a few different places that they just need to get used to you but is there a good process for this? I've been getting him out in short increments every other day or so. Thanks in advance for any help!

Regarding feeding make sure to feed the largest pinkies or smallest fuzzies at this size, you want to feed every 3 to 5 days for the first year, than 5 to 7 days thereafter.

As for handling they all tend to go a little psycho when you reach in the enclosure when young however when handles they should calm down. Make sure not to restrain him but let him slither placing one hand in front of the other. With colubrids if you retrain them they will fight you of.
